Chris was first introduced to music in grade school, playing the clarinet. He then moved on to playing tuba and baritone in his high school band.
The list of his influences is long and varied, including but not limited to Django Reinhardt, BB King, Roger Waters, Joe Perry, Slash, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, etc.
Chris has studied theory under a number of private teachers and on his own. His performance experience includes playing hundreds of shows with several bands.
As a teacher, Chris strives to give his students a solid foundation of musical and practical knowledge.

Chris has been teaching guitar and bass lessons since 1997. He has been employed by City Music in Leominster since its inception in 2003 and now also teaches at City Music in Gardner. Denise Dayton, M.Ed., M.S., is an experienced educator who has taught students from pre-school age to adult. She has studied with Scott Mullett, Michael Zsoldos, and Charles Langford (saxophone), Paul Surapine (clarinet), and James Hill, Jim Beloff, Stu Fuchs, and Christopher Davis-Shannon (ukulele), among others. She works with students of various ages and abilities and particularly welcomes beginners just starting on their musical journey!
